school librarianship in Italy and Europe.

Dear Luisa, congratulations on behalf of all of us!

This is a wonderful start of International School Library Month.

services within their
own country or internationally.

For the inaugural award IASL has recognised four IASL members.

Professor Bernadete Campello has been awarded the IASL School Librarianship

her service in the development of school libraries in Brazil. Professor
Campello has been
noted as being influential in the position of her research and ongoing
leadership of school
libraries throughout Brazil. IASL President James Henri noted the importance
that
professional development for school librarians played in the development of
school
libraries. Professor Carol Kuhlthau from Rutgers University, New Jersey, USA

development
workshops focusing on the use of Web 2.0 technologies in school libraries.
